What’s inside

How this activity is built

Every Digital & Dirt activity moves through the same seven stages. The theme — real or fake headline — is the vehicle. The skill being built is Evidence Evaluation, and that never changes, whatever the theme.

  1. 01 · Curiosity

Opens with a question worth answering, not a definition to memorise.

  2. 02 · Exposure

Sets a concrete, real-world scene the learner can picture.

  3. 03 · Understanding

Builds the idea underneath the scene — the how and the why.

  4. 04 · Practice

Works the skill directly, with space to write and think.

  5. 05 · Reinforcement

Comes at the same idea from a different angle so it sticks.

  6. 06 · Extension

Pushes past the worksheet into a harder or wider application.

  7. 07 · Demonstration

Asks the learner to show they can do it, in their own words.

Who it’s for

Written for 6th grade, ages 11–14

Reading level, vocabulary, and the amount of writing expected are all set for Grade 6. Progression 2 controls difficulty independently of grade — the same skill can be pitched easier or harder without changing who it’s written for.

Critical Thinking Path: How to think — testing evidence, spotting bias, and reasoning to sound decisions.
